This workshop took place virtually.
Due to the high demand for our virtual teacher workshops, we have split and gave a lower-level workshop (designed for teachers of grades K-5) and an upper-level workshop (designed for teachers of grades 6-12). The page for the upper-level workshop is
Professional development credit certificates and stipends were offered for this workshop.
However, a teacher may only obtain a certificate and stipend for the lower-level or upper-level workshop, but not both. (It is OK if someone wants to attend both workshops.)
Participants have to have a current W9 on file with Kansas State University to get the stipend. A copy of the W9 form is available at the bottom of this page. If someone was paid for the January or March workshop, the W9 on file is still valid. In addition, they will enter their name, e-mail, and mailing address into the following form and say hi in the chat during the meeting to get the stipend.
The workshop featured 90-minute mathematical activities/explorations led by Pam Smith and Julia Brodsky.

Ideas to help students that fall behind:
1) Work with parents
2) Identify the students, work with small group teaching
3) Teach to the kids you have, not the level you wish to have
4) Make sure no one feels bad!!!
5) Use names that do not imply virtue. Let the kids name the groups.
