2022 Summer Math Camp (West)

Our Baa Hózhó Summer Camp took place May 31 – June 9, 2022.

This camp was for students in grades 6 – 12.

Camp Schedule

May 31:

7:45-Shannon and Jessica pick up students at the High School Cafeteria
*Sign in sheet and name tags

8:00-8:45- Arrive at CCC-Henry Fowler-Welcome and introductions of Camp Staff. Camp Kickoff Ceremony. Human Chain-David

8:45-9:10-Welcome and Ice Breaker/Team Building Activities-Shannon

9:15-10:45- Split into two teams. Balloon Numbers (Dave), Hogan (Henry)

10:45-Walk over to PUSD Cafeteria for lunch
11:00-11:30-Lunch-Grab lunch/eat at cafeteria. Walk back to Campus. *Jessica, Shannon, Math Staff.

11:45-1:15-Teams switch and explore the other math activity. Hogan (Henry), Balloon Numbers (Dave)

1:15-2:15-Cultural or Physical activity-What’s in our area?-Walk the rim trail, view the frisbee golf course. More Team Building activities-Shannon *Team Flags

2:15-3:15- Puzzle Introductions (Danya, Lincoln, Alex) Think about puzzles, play games, get ready to head home.

3:15-Clean up

3:30-Students will be picked up and depart from CCC. The bus will pick students up from the parking lot.


June 1:

7:45-Shannon and Jessica will head over to pick up students at the High School Cafeteria
*Sign in sheet and name tags

8:00-8:45- arrive at CCC, play with puzzles and math games, look at wrangle problems.

8:45-9:15 Frisbee Golf Intro Shannon (This seems short DA added time, can start as soon as students arrive)

9:15-10:45 Grid Luck (Pam), Tile Trouble (Matthias and Alex)

10:45-Walk over to PUSD Cafeteria for lunch
11:00-11:30-Lunch-Grab lunch/eat at cafeteria. Walk back to Campus..

11:45-1:15 Tile Trouble (Matthias and Alex), Grid Luck (Pam)

1:15-2:15-Team Building Activities-Jessica and More Frisbee Golf

2:15-3:15-Think about puzzles, play games, get ready to head home.

3:15-Clean up

3:30-Students will be picked up and depart from CCC. The bus will pick students up from the parking lot.


June 2:

11:00-11:30-Lunch-Grab lunch/eat at cafeteria.

11:45-1:15- Role Model: Darren Harvey

1:15-2:15-Cultural or Physical activity-Hailei Joe

2:15-3:15-Think about puzzles, play games, get ready to head home.

3:15-Clean up

3:30-Load up vans to Head to Fowler Cow Springs Ranch.
